ACU Summer School 2019 at University of Mauritius [Fully Funded]



The ACU Stands for “Association of Commonwealth Universities” is pleased to announce that the next ACU Summer School will be held at the University of Mauritius from 14-21 July 2019. Join us in Mauritius for a week of expert lectures by local and international speakers, social events, engaging and challenging group project work.
The Undergraduates, Master Students Ph.D. Students will learn from site visits to Mauritian hospitals and laboratories, will work together on a challenging group project, share their experiences of public health challenges in their home countries, and will be able to immerse themselves in Mauritian culture.

The theme of the 2019 Summer School is ‘Public Health: from a Small Island State to the Global Community’ will focus on four major components of public health namely:
  • Education, detection, prevention, and control of disease outbreak, community-centered approaches.
  • Research in health/medicine.
  • Innovation in health: e-health and big data.
  • Health economics, policies, and civil society.

The ACU Summer School will Cover Bursaries cover
  • Return flights from your home country
  • Full summer school participation.
  • Field trips.
  • Hotel accommodation.
  • Most Meals and Airport pick-ups.
  • However, bursaries do not include the cost of visas and vaccinations.

14-21 July 2019

Requirement:
  • The summer in Mauritius is open to both Current postgraduate (Master’s and Ph.D.) & final-year undergraduate students at both ACU member universities and non-member universities in Commonwealth countries.
  • The event is multi-disciplinary: it is appropriate both for those studying fields relating to public health, and students from other disciplines.
  • Students who have previously attended an ACU Summer School are not eligible to apply.
