[Master and PhD Degree] Sato Yo International Scholarship Foundation at University of Tokyo, Japan

The University of Tokyo is a public research university located in Bunkyo, Tokyo, Japan. Established in 1877 as the first imperial university, it is one of Japan's most prestigious universities.
The university has 10 faculties and enrolls about 30,000 students, 2,100 of whom are international students. Its five campuses are in Hongō, Komaba, Kashiwa, Shirokane and Nakano. It is among the top type of the select Japanese universities assigned additional funding under the MEXT's Top Global University Project to enhance Japan's global educational competitiveness.The university has graduated many notable alumni, including 17 Prime Ministers, 16 Nobel Prize laureates, 3 Pritzker Prize laureates, 3 astronauts, and 1 Fields Medalist.

Benefit:
 Amount: 180,000 JPY/month

Duration:
  • Student enrolling in October: October 2019 to September 2021
  • Student enrolling in April: April 2020 to March 2022

Requirement:The fall application slot is for students who will be attending University in October 2019 or April 2020. Students who already have been enrolled can apply for the October slot only. Applicants must fulfill the following conditions:
  • Privately financed international students who are nationals of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, East Timor, or Vietnam, being enrolled in GSFS as regular course students
  • Having strong interests in international understanding and friendship, and being able to participate in events hosted by the Foundation.
  • Not receiving any scholarships or funding from other organizations under any circumstance.
  • Having a ‘college student’ visa status.
  • Applicants parents must be non-resident in Japan.
  • Those who have not obtained a PhD. degree.
  • Those who have more than one year left for competing their course when scholarship payment starts.
  • Those who are able to communicate in Japanese.
  • Those who can attend the award ceremony on Sunday, November 17th
