[Master Degree] ASEAN Master in Sustainability Management at Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia (Fully Funded)



Sustainability and environmental issues are complex problems that span various domains. Yet, existing master programs covering such topics mostly lack the management perspective and an interdisciplinary approach. Against this backdrop, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia, together with ASEAN University Network (AUN) and University of Agder, Norway, now offer a collaborative MBA program that brings together various academic and practical perspectives to engage with pressing sustainability challenges.

Mission
We shall educate competent candidates for key posts in government and business, who can partake in leading economic development towards environmental sustainability. Students will attend a state-of-the-art master program while enjoying a close contact with business and government organizations through guest lecturers, internships, and master thesis research. Students will also benefit from developing a strong alumni network spanning countries and continents.

The Norwegian Funding
The program is initiated by the generous funding from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A Grant Agreement is signed between the Embassy of Norway for ASEAN and the ASEAN University Network (AUN).
Scholarship:

The program offers full scholarship for two intakes

Selected students from ASEAN countries are offered stipends through the funding from the Norwegian government. Each student will receive approximately 17,000 USD in total. The scholarships shall cover the full costs of tuition fees, travels, and living costs for the whole study period of 18 months. The first intake of the program will commence in January 2021 and the second intake will start in August 2022.
Requirement:
  • Candidates from ASEAN countries are eligible for the full-scholarship. Priority is given to candidates from Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar.
  • Students from Norway, or other non-ASEAN countries, are also eligible applicants for a limited number of seats without stipends.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • Suitable academic backgrounds may be from economics, management, agricultural or forestry sciences, engineering, political science, geography or law. Students with other relevant higher education may also apply.
  • Applicants must submit proof of English language fluency (TOEFL or IELTS, or otherwise in agreement with recruiting universities).
  • Applicants for stipends shall be under the age of 30 by the time of application.

Ranking of Applicants
  • Admission is competitive and based on grades. A weighted grade average is calculated from all the grades in the bachelor’s degree.
  • Relevant work experience, up to 3 years, will count 10% per year of total possible grade score.
