[Master and PhD Degree] University of New England (UNE) International Postgraduate Research Award (IPRA), Australia

The UNE International Postgraduate Research Award (UNE IPRA) scholarship is offered to top quality international candidates who wish to enrol in a research degree at UNE. Up to 20 UNE IPRA’s are available to outstanding applicants who wish to enrol in a postgraduate research degree at UNE. These Awards are for commencement of candidature between 1 June 2019 to 30 September 2019. Applications are assessed on academic merit and research potential

Benefit:
  • The UNE IPRA provides a stipend of $27,596 AUD per annum, course tuition fees and single Standard Overseas Health Insurance
  • A UNE IPRA covers tuition fees for a maximum of two years for a Masters degree or three years for a Doctoral degree.
  • A UNE IPRA covers standard overseas health insurance premiums for the student only for the period of HDR candidature.

Requirement: 
A Scholarship holder:
  • must be an overseas student as defined in the Higher Education Support Act 2003
  • must have received an Offer of full-time internal HDR Candidature at UNE but not be enrolled.
  • must not be in receipt of an equivalent award, scholarship or salary providing a benefit greater than 75% of the Scholarship stipend rate, whilst in receipt of the Scholarship.
  • must not have completed a research degree at the same level as the proposed candidature, or at a higher level.
  • A Scholarship holder must commence studies by the date specified in the offer letter, or the offer may be withdrawn and reallocated to another applicant. 

Specific Student Obligations

Scholarship holders shall:
  • diligently and to the best of their ability apply themselves to the successful completion of their degree.
  • abide by the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research
  • abide by the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research and
  • abide by the Australian code of practice for the care and use of animals for scientific purposes.
  • conform to the regulations, including disciplinary provisions, of UNE, as described in UNE’s policies and rules.
