Scholarships are awarded to students who have excellent academic credentials and exhibit exceptional leadership skills. We are pleased to offer the following scholarships to honor our students who continue on to online graduate studies.

Requirement and Benefit:

1. MA in Economics, Applied Economics Specialization

• Scholarship Amount: $10,000
• Availability: Ongoing
• Considerations:
• American University will make the Online Merit Scholarship decision and will notify students at the time they are admitted or shortly thereafter.
• Scholarship will be applied equally to the 1st and 5th courses.
• Read the eligibility requirements.

2. MA in Strategic Communication

• Scholarship Amount: Up to $10,000
• Availability: Ongoing
• Student Eligibility:
• Admitted students will be eligible for scholarship consideration based on a holistic review of the application file, including academic credentials, professional experience and exceptional leadership skills.
• Students must also remain in good academic standing throughout the program.
• Considerations:
• American University will make the Online Merit Scholarship decision and will notify students at the time they are admitted or shortly thereafter.
• Scholarship will be applied equally to the final two courses.

3. Master of Public Administration and Policy

• Scholarship Amount: $10,000
• Availability: Ongoing
• Student Eligibility:
• Students must have a cumulative 3.2 GPA (on 4.0 scale) or above in their undergraduate program.
• Students must remain in good academic standing.
• Considerations:
• American University will make the Online Merit Scholarship decision and will notify students at the time they are admitted or shortly thereafter.
• Scholarship will be applied equally to the third and fourth semesters (5th through 8th courses).
• Read the eligibility requirements. 

4. MS in Health Promotion Management

• Scholarship Amount: $10,000
• Availability: Ongoing
• Student Eligibility:
• Students must have a cumulative 3.4 GPA (on 4.0 scale) or above in their undergraduate program.
• Students must remain in good academic standing.
• Considerations:
• American University will make the Online Merit Scholarship decision and will notify students at the time they are admitted or shortly thereafter.
• Scholarship will be applied equally to the 5th and 6th courses.
• Read the eligibility requirements.

5. MS in Counter-Terrorism and Homeland Security

• Scholarship Amount: $10,000
• Availability: Ongoing
• Student Eligibility:
• Students must have a cumulative 3.5 GPA (on 4.0 scale) or above in their undergraduate program.
• Students must remain in good academic standing.
• Considerations:
• American University will make the Online Merit Scholarship decision and will notify students at the time they are admitted or shortly thereafter.
• Scholarship will be applied equally to the third and fourth semesters (5th through 8th courses).

6. MS in Nutrition Education

• Scholarship Amount: $10,000
• Availability: Ongoing
• Student Eligibility:
• Students must have a cumulative 3.4 GPA (on 4.0 scale) or above in their undergraduate program.
• Students must remain in good academic standing.
• Considerations:
• American University will make the Online Merit Scholarship decision and will notify students at the time they are admitted or shortly thereafter.
