Monbukagakusho / MEXT Program Specialized Training College KOSEN 2020 For International Student, Japan (Fully Funded)


 
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan offers scholarships to international students who wish to study at Japanese specialized training colleges as Specialized Training College Students under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program as follows.
Those who are enrolled in a postsecondary course at a specialized training college, or who are receiving preparatory education in the Japanese language and other subjects prior to placement at the specialized training college.

Fields Of Study
Those who apply for a specialized training college student must choose a field of study in accordance with the following procedure and fill in “Preferred field of study and subjects in Japan” on the application form. 
    1) medical care,
    2) technology,
    3) culture and general education,
    4) business,
    5) hygiene,6) education and social welfare,
    7) fashion and home economics, and
    8) agriculture.

      Benefit:
      • Allowance
        117,000 yen per month. A supplemental regional allowance of 2,000 yen or 3,000 yen per month will be added to the monthly scholarship amount for the grantees studying or conducting research in specially designated regions.
      • Education Fees
        Fees for the entrance examination, matriculation, and tuition at specialized training colleges and preparatory educational institutions will be paid by MEXT. 
      • Traveling Expenses
        • Transportation to Japan: MEXT will stipulate the travel schedule and route, and provides an airline ticket to grantees who will arrive in Japan during the specified period 
        • Transportation from Japan: Based on the application by the grantee, MEXT will provide an airline ticket to grantees who shall graduate the specialized training college and return to the home country by the end of the final month of the period of scholarship

      Requirement:
      Students must satisfy any one of the following eligibility criteria.
      • Students who have completed 12 years of schooling in countries other than Japan
      • Students who are 18 years of age or older and have successfully passed an academic qualification examination that is equivalent to the completion of 12 years of schooling in countries other than Japan
      • Students who have completed studies at international schools in Japan that are officially recognized as equivalent to high schools in countries other than Japan
      • Students who have completed 11 years or longer of education courses designated by the Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in countries other than Japan
      • Students who hold an International Baccalaureate, German Abitur or French Baccalauréat diploma, or who meet the GCE A level course requirements specified by each professional training college
      • Students who have completed 12 years of curriculum at international schools in Japan that are accredited by any of the following international accreditation organizations: WASC, CIS or ACSI
      • Students who are 18 years of age or older and have successfully passed the Upper Secondary School Equivalency Examination in Japan
      • Students who are 18 years of age or older and are recognized by the educational institutions to which they apply for admission, through their individual admission qualification examinations, as having an academic ability that is equivalent to a high-school diploma or above
      • A student who satisfies any one of the admission qualifications specified in the School Education Act, other than those outlined above
      Note: With regard to 1) through 3) above, if the period of schooling the student has completed is less than 12 years, he/she must also complete an authorized university preparatory courses or an authorized course at a training facility, among other things.

      • Certificate of attendance at a Japanese language institute and the transcript (if applicant is residing in Japan)
      • Japanese language proficiency certificate (if applicant is residing outside Japan)

      Documents for submission may vary according to the school, and some schools require them to be translated into Japanese or English. It is best that you inquire directly with the relevant school for details.
