YSEALI Regional Workshop : Agri-Business Incubator 2020, Laos (Fully Funded)

 
This learning experience will take you through a 5-day incubator-style workshop which will teach you how to apply Design Thinking, Lean Startup methodologies and disciplined entrepreneurship through rigorous evidenced-based, action-oriented learning to help you recognize opportunities and build a sustainable enterprise that can deliver innovative value in the Agri-business sector. Through classwork, site visits, and roundtable discussions, workshop participants will actively learn how to identify Agri-business opportunities, interact with potential customers, and develop sustainable and environmentally sound ventures. The coursework will be delivered by subject matter experts, trade professionals, industry leaders, and practitioners.

The program will culminate with attendees presenting investor-style pitches to document their understanding of the Agri-business opportunity, their proposed solutions and the funding required to advance the development of their Agri-business innovation. Ventures with the highest potential might be eligible for additional funding to advance their ideas to the next level.
Eligibility Criteria and Requirements

If you have an idea for an agribusiness venture or have already started one and want to learn how to scale it, this workshop if for you.

Benefit:
ALL expenses will be covered including: round trip airfare from your home country to Laos, hotel accommodations and meals. There will be no stipends or additional funds distributed to individual participants.

Requirement:

  • Be a registered YSEALI members between the ages of 20 and 30 years old. Not a member yet? Join here. (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam).
  • Have relevant experience and/or interest in areas social enterprises, agri-business, entrepreneurship
  • Passionate about building communities and have a keen interest in building a network through collaboration and partnership with other Southeast Asian countries;
  • Fluent in written and spoken English;
  • Have a valid passport that expires after September 2020 (at least 6 months’ validity);
  • Must be able to participate fully throughout the entire program from March 2-6, 2020 (includes travel days) – If you are coming from a smaller airport, you will need to plan for additional travel days before and after the above dates.

How to Apply:

  • Participants should fill out the online form before the deadline on January 10, 2020. The online application form has two 2 components:
    • Fields to collect biographic data and information about your agribusiness venture
    • Submission of a 2-minute video explaining your venture
