The DAAD Helmut Schmidt Scholarship Program 2026, a fully funded scholarship program for students from developing and emerging countries, also known as the Master’s Scholarship for Public Policy and Good Governance at DAAD. Through the scholarship, future leaders from developing countries will have the opportunity to be a part of promoting democracy and social justice in their hometowns, thereby spreading social, political, and economic development throughout these countries.

Required Documents for DAAD Scholarships, Germany:

  • Application for DAAD (signed and completed)
  • If you are applying for two courses, write the same letter (max. 2 pages).
  • This is a reverse chronological CV (Curriculum Vitae)
  • If you do not have an English or German degree certificate, you can provide certified translations.
  • Certificates of Transcript (with explanation of grading system)
  • The proof of practical experience must be on official letterhead, signed, dated, and stamped.
  • An official letter of recommendation (from an employer or a university lecturer)
  • Obtain a valid certificate of proficiency in English
  • The DAAD Checklist Form has been completed and signed
