Eligibility Criteria:

Open to All Nationalities: The scholarship is available to both Bruneian citizens and international applicants from any country.
Age Requirement: Candidates must be no older than 30 years at the time of application to qualify for the scholarship.
For PhD Applicants: A completed Master’s degree in a related academic field from a recognized university is required.
For Master’s Applicants: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least Second Class Honors (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area.
English Language Proficiency: All applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English through acceptable test scores such as IELTS or TOEFL, as per UBD’s language requirements.
Recent Educational Background: Applicants must have completed their last degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) within the past five years from the program’s start date at UBD.
Research Proposal Requirement: A strong and well-structured research proposal must be submitted as part of the application, aligning with UBD’s research priorities.

Required Documents:

Proof of Identity/: A valid passport or national identity card clearly showing your full name, nationality, and date of birth.
Academic Certificates: Copies of official certificates such as O-Level, A-Level, Higher National Diploma (HND), or equivalent qualifications.
University Transcripts: Full academic transcripts from all previous university-level studies, reflecting grades, GPA, and completed courses.
English Language Proficiency Test Results: Valid scores from recognized tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, or BEC, meeting UBD’s minimum language requirements.
Security Clearance Letter (International Applicants Only): A letter or certificate from an official authority confirming you have no criminal record, typically required for visa and enrollment.
Letter of Permission from Employer: For in-service candidates from the private or government sector (excluding those from the Ministry of Education and MRA), a no-objection or permission letter from the employer is necessary.
Certified English Translation (if applicable): Any document not originally issued in English must be accompanied by an official certified translation into English.
